Public Lectures

Jason is passionate about communicating astronomy to the general public.  Over the past few years, he has spoken to more than 10,000 people at science centers, planetariums, international symposiums, and other public events.  He also works directly with classrooms to inspire the next generation to follow fields in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.  Jason's public outreach program includes partnerships with over a dozen schools in Maryland, such as Veteran's Elementary, Centennial High School, Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Towson University, and others.

Jason's public presentations include general topics in astronomy (such as the life cycles of stars), and are filled with the latest astronomical images from our most advanced telescopes (such as the Hubble Space Telescope).  He also enjoys discussing with audiences some of the biggest unsolved mysteries of the Universe, such as the search for life on other worlds.  Many of the answers to these mysteries will come from the James Webb Space Telescope.
